Answer Lots of laughs and tons of heat. You'll be left wanting a Dr. Ryan Andrews of your own.

Sexual Surrogate (Definition) A sexual surrogate, sometimes called a surrogate partner, is a member of a sex therapy team consisting of client(s), supervising therapist, and surrogate. Natalie has moved to San Francisco for a fresh start. Which also means she is eager to handle an issue that has been holding her back for a while. She needs to give up her virginity and who better to help her than a sex surrogate? Except that he comes in the form of Dr. Ryan Andrews, who is not only irresistible to Natalie, but there's a genuine attraction between them that is more than just about this being a job. Natalie's POV is very relatable and entertaining. She has these insecurities about herself that she feels uncomfortable disclosing, but has no choice in a clinical setting. Yet she manages to keep her emotions under wraps where Ryan really cannot read what she is actually feeling beyond the physical pleasure. I also liked Ryan a lot, too, because he can't help but be enamored by everything about Natalie even though he, too, keeps his feelings disguised. There are some interesting twists and surprises along the way. The scenes between Natalie and Ryan are hot and steamy. Ryan is the perfect man package in every way except that he's not available to Natalie in that capacity outside of their lessons. Great characters with an engaging, if not unconventional, storyline.Product details

The Lessons OffLimits Book 1 edition by Elizabeth Brown Romance eBooks Reviews
I sometimes found myself embarrassed on behalf of the protagonist to the point of some emotional discomfort. She’s so inexperienced and so out of her element at times! But I still found her perspective relatable because she was so well-crafted as a character. The love scenes and the character development kept me focused. The chemistry between the two main characters is so intense it’s breathtaking. I think I read this one in a day because I was so hooked. Definitely worth purchasing.
Spoilers ahead. I went off someone's review and thought, hey, this sounds interesting and I need something light and potentially funny. I should have known once the heroine was in the therapist's office being screened for sessions with a sex surrogate that I would need to stop reading this. The only reason (what she could admit to herself, at least) for this was for her to rid herself of her virginity because she was 30 and she had veered way off course from her plan, which was to be married and have a kid by now. It was so important to her that she moved all the way from New York City to San Francisco for this--just because she didn't want to run into anyone she knew. So in her "interview" she trotted out a carefully thought out lie--she lied to qualify for a sex surrogate. She made up some stuff about how her ex-boyfriend mistreated her or something--and then thought of also hinting at sexual abuse but then thought better of it. Um. I don't even know what to say about that. This is the very beginning of the book. And then she meets her surrogate, and it's the hot guy who tried to pick her up at the library earlier. I guess she forgot about how she didn't want to know anyone in connection with her having a surrogate--I guess it doesn't count when it's the surrogate and he's hot.
Thing is, the premise is reprehensible, the characters aren't any better, and it just gets worse from there. First of all, she didn't need to make up a reason at all--she had intimacy issues and she could have brought that up, she had some deep-seated stuff from her past that had a lot to do with it. In fact, I'm not at all sure a clinic would have turned her away if she just said she was still a virgin at 30 and wanted to not be one anymore. AND it's a slap in the face for anyone who has a need for surrogacy, who do have "real" issues.
Also, sex surrogate has a role in this also as a therapist in a way, so there were all sorts of client/therapist violations. It gets so much murkier when sex is at the center of it. Also I wonder at the people who loved this book and thought the guy was so romantic and hot. He was borderline abusive and creepy. He grabbed her to get her attention. Several times. He would get upset when he saw her talking to other men. He chastised her for wearing a short skirt in the Tenderloin district, policing her body and basically telling her that men are not responsible for their actions when her skirt's that short. Also the girl's friend at work--the one who undermines her at the end--is Vietnamese and the only person of color in this book, and she happens to be the villain, very two-dimensional at that--but then the characters weren't all that deep to begin with. No one else is described by race or ethnicity in this book--so everyone is default white, except for this Vietnamese girl. That was--extremely problematic. Just one of several things.
More on the hero. All he could think about when he was with her was how hot she was and how much he wanted to have sex with her. Stronger language of course. And (this was in altering first-person pov) every time it was him I could tell because the f-word was all over the place, like as a noun, verb, modifier, exclamation, you have it. Does it immediately become a guy voice when you do that? And he had some degree of erection whenever he was around her, and she--she was constantly wet. I mean.
I kept reading to the end. I don't know. Maybe I hoped there would be some sort of redemption, some realizations from the characters, some growth? It also says something that I just finished the book yesterday and I don't remember a single character's name. Ultimately it wasn't my kind of book and I'm sorry I read it. I think this needed an editor, definitely a copy editor, a couple sensitivity readers, some self-reflection. Not that much to ask.
'''''5-Hot Lessons Stars'''''
The Lessons was a thrilling hot read, it was a tamed but sexy. I loved every minute of every page I turned and would read this over and over. Hiring someone to lose your virginity should be a clean slate, right? Or so they both thought, Natalie might regret hiring Ryan since he's one scorching hot teacher. Someone she can't seem to stop thinking about, and for Ryan, the feeling is mutual. How long will they try to keep this professional until they both crack and realize that this was a big mistake? I would most definitely recommend this to anyone who loves to read about someone losing their V-Card.

Loved this book. I really identified with the heroine on a number of levels. She's a driven, interesting, spunky lady who has a thing about planning her future. Unfortunately for her, the plan didn't work out. So now she's trying to get rid of her virginity in a safe and easy way. Enter hottie alert. The characters are great, it's got a fun feeling, and the plot works well. The only thing that didn't seem authentic was the fact that the heroine really only has one friend. I couldn't see why she wouldn't be able to make friends easily.
